Wilds has been nominated for seven Tasmanian Theatre Awards
Overnight, it was announced that Wilds has been nominated for a staggering seven Tasmanian Theatre Awards.
This is a massive milestone for us. Not only is it a testament to the hard work of our entire creative team, but it also marks the first time ROOKE has been shortlisted for these awards.
The Nominations
We are incredibly proud to be recognised across both performance and technical categories:
Best Professional Theatre Production: Wilds
Best Performance (Professional Theatre): Conor Wild and Freyja Wild
Best Ensemble (Professional Theatre): Conor and Freyja Wild
Best Stage Design (Professional Theatre): Ryan Mahony
Best Lighting Design (Professional Theatre): Ryan Mahony
Best Sound Design (Professional Theatre): Louis Frere-Harvey
A Shared Success
A production like Wilds doesn’t happen in a vacuum. These nominations are the result of a team of creatives, some of whom were nominated, some were not, and some were ineligible.
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our commissioners and funders who made this possible: Theatre Royal, Ten Days on the Island, Arts Tasmania, and Creative Australia. Also, our venue supporters Assembly 197, Theatre North and the University of Tasmania.
We will find out the results at the official awards ceremony on March 7. Whether we take home a trophy or not, we’re privileged to be able to make this relevant and challenging work.
